Megan is 5!!!

Holy cannoli's. I don't know when that happened, but my little pumpkin pie is now 5 years old, and she's got the attitude to prove it! She had a great birthday, just a small little party at our house with a couple of friends....did I mention we had no power the whole time?! Here are a couple of pics...enjoy!

Pictures of Megans Easter

Ok, here are some pictures of just Megan from Easter.  I know I'm a bit late getting them out.  Enjoy!

Bath Time Maddy

Here are a couple of pictures of Maddy in her bath.  She LOVES the water!  If she's super cranky I'll give her a bath to calm her down. She's found her toes and loves those as well!

Poor Megan

Ok, so I was looking over our blog and realized that since Madeline has been born, there have been no pictures of just Megan, while there have been pictures of just Madeline. That seems weird to me, since for the longest time it was just Megan...I'll have to try to make an effort to get more pictures of Megan...

Maddy has rolled over!

We haven't got it on video or anything, but she did roll over a couple of times today and she can't stop talking about it!  So there is one milestone down...it's a bit sad because I now know, in a way I never did with Megan, that Maddy is growing up.  Even though she'll be 4 months at the end of this month, she's in size 6-9 month clothing, closer to 9 months than 6!  She's a big tall girl, like her sister!   Paul calls her our little nugget, but that doesn't seem quite right somehow, I perfer the term "Moose!"
Megan is still very much in love with her and she always wants to help and do everything for Maddy.  She's constantly giving her kisses and hugs and wanting to play with her.  It's soooo cute!

Staying at Home

So, it hasn't been quite a week yet since I quit my job to stay at home with the girls. On the first day at home, we went to the story time at the library and then to the grocery store. All day Megan kept saying, "I thought we were staying at home" She thought that when Paul and I told her that we were staying at home we would not leave the house at all, no wonder she was so upset! I think she's starting to get used to the idea though, we've been staying pretty busy during the day, we do two reading lessons a day plus errands and all the other stuff...we've already met some other people with kids the same age who stay at home.

Here is the latest picture of Maddy, I've started to notice that almost all the pictures I have of her and Paul, Paul is sleeping. I can't belive that she's alread almost 4 months old! She hasn't rolled over yet, from front to back, but she's still working on it, and she loves to "sit up" with me holding her up. Enjoy!

Madeline has found her thumb.....

And Paul blames me! He swore up and down that Maddy wouldn't be a thumb sucker, but I guess it's like they say, children are God's way of showing us that we're not in charge! She's been sucking on her fingers for the last couple of weeks, but today was the big day, just one thumb in her mouth! She can roll over from her front to back, for about 3 weeks or so and is working on back to front, she can get onto her side and almost all the way over but not quite there yet...
Megan is still very much the proud older sister, she's just great with Madeline, she always wants to hold her and is a great help. She got creative with a pair of scissors and her hair the other day though...
In related news, Paul and I have decieded that I'll stay home with the girls. There is really no one else to watch Maddy, the lady who is watching her now gave us until April 6th and she'll have another set of kids to watch. So we'll be taking Megan out of daycare and she'll stay home until Kindergarten in the fall. Hopefully she'll be able to go to the Waldorf school that is in Freeport, it's a private school but I've heard great things about it and Mom, as a present to Megan, has offered to pay for the tuition. So we're going to the open house in April to check it out. But I just can't wait, I really think that this will be so good for her. I'll try to keep us busy this summer, the library has some great programs and we'll do swim lessons once it warms up. We've been thinking about piano lessons, but we'll have to re-think that one with the loss of my income...
Ok, going to go, time for the kids to get to bed!

Finally a new post!

Ok, after Jess and Paul both said something, I decieded to post something new....I was going to hold out until Jess posted some new pics, but I bit the bullet...so enjoy! Oh, and I"m typing this with Madeline sleeping in her baby sling, thanks Aunt Alberta and mom! Here's a link to the website http://www.newnativeinc.com/index.asp, it's great even though we're still getting the hang of it...it keeps my hands free and her close!

New baby...why didn't I remember all this?!

Ok, so I'm a pretty smart gal for the most part...so why is it that I had completly forgotten how exhausting it is to have a newborn? I have a hard time forming a complete sentece and my brain feels mushy...poor Megan is having to deal with not only a new baby sister (who she loves beyond reason) and a loon for a mom....good thing she's a pretty cool kid!

A Langrehr Thanksgiving

I'm not sure how we survived with three Langrehr men in one house....lucky for us there was enough estrogen to counter any male coup attempts that they may have made!
We had a lot of people in the house, Kyle and Aly came up, as well as Pauls parents and my mom and sister....it was crowed but we had a great time.
Kim came over with the beans, not green bean casserole but her famous baked beans, Paul got over that dissapointment as soon as he ate her homemade baked beans, in fact we were fighting over them the next day!

Cutie Pie

Here's Megan in her new outfit from Lori...she wore it church and loved it! Coming soon ( I promise) is a picture of me in all my pregnant splendor...but by the time I remember to have Paul take a picture of me I'm in my pj's.....(which is about 30 seconds after coming home). So I'll have to just remember earlier some day! I"m sure there will be pictures from Thanksgiving.....stay posted!

Delicate procedure

Here's our doctor performing a delicate operation on a sugar cookie, notice how delicatly she holds her instrument? She's a great doctor!

Our own Doctor

After trying on too many princess costumes to count, Megan decieded she wanted to be a doctor for Halloween, she's got to be the cutest one there is!

Megan told me the other day, as she was rubbing my big ole tummy, "Mommmy, I can't wait for Tinkerbelle to get here" she really is so excited and can't wait to share all of her stuff....she tells all her friends at school that her mommy has a baby in her tummy and she's going to be an older sister, it's too cute!

Pauls Surgery

I just wanted to give everyone an update on Pauls surgery.  It went well and he's at home right now resting.  He made it up the stairs but I think it may be a day or two before he makes it back down!
The doctor ended up doing a lot more than he orginally thought and Paul will be doing rehab for at least 7-8 months. I'll keep everyone updated on his progress... take care!

Leaf Raking

Here are some neighborhood kids that Paul talked into "helping" to rake the leafs! They worked really hard, but I'm not sure they did much!

Apple Picking

We spent most of Sunday at Ricker Hills Farm, it's about 45 minutes north of us. There was a bouncy house, baby farm animals, a kids obstacle course, a corn maze that Megan lead us through and a big sand box full of corn kernnels. And of course, pick your own apples! We picked a bag full of apples, and while we have no clue what kind of apples we got, we made a pie and an apple crisp this am...they also had an apple sling shot to shoot the old apples into the woods. We where so worn out by the end of the day, between my big ole belly and Pauls bad knee, poor Megan has a cold and didn't get a nap that day, but she just kept going!

New(er) Pictures

Ok, I've finally gotten the pictures from the camera to the computer.....you'd think it was a hard thing to do, but it's not really, I'm just too lazy to carry the camera all the way UPSTAIRS to the computer to do it... :) Enjoy!

Megan and Paul

Paul had a sleep study this last Sunday, he had to be at the hospital at 9pm. As we were tucking Megan into bed and kissing her goodnight, we decided to tell her that dad wouldn't be there during the night, or maybe even back by the next morning. WRONG MOVE. She was soooo worried about him, it took us about an hour to get her to bed, she had a ton of questions why her dad was sleeping at the hospital, then she wanted to go also, she had decided that she also had problems in her sleep. UGH!! The next morning her and I are getting ready and Paul comes home, he went right up the stairs. Megan had heard something and followed him up, when she first saw him on the stairs you would have thought it was the second coming from the way she acted!!! She would leave his side, and she was dancing and singing all over the house, it was too cute. I'm a bit worried however, that was only 8 hours, what is she going to do when he's gone for two months? She is most decidedly a daddy's girl!!!

I know this is over a year old, but I wanted to get a picture up of the kids. We're just not that good when it comes to taking picutres of the kids, we're such bad parents!!

Almost everyday Megan mentions Kyle and Aly, mostly saying how much she misses them, she can't wait for them to come back from "ginia"!

We've got a fence!!!!

Finally! We've got a fence!   I know it seems like such a small thing but I am so happy about it. Paul worked on it all weekend.  He had to dig 4 foot holes to get the posts in and he finished late yesterday afternoon. Now we don't have to walk the dog in the snow and cold. YIPPIE!!!

I'm starting to get the pictures together, I'll try to post some here....when I can figure out how to get them from the kodak easy share....:)
