Cricket found someone's Hershey Kiss, the big ones that come in a cardboard box.
She likes chocolate.
She ate right through the cardboard and foil to get to the kiss. She is totally my daughter.
And she turned 1 the other day.....I just can't believe it.
She's so awesome! I love you Cricket!

Caves

Both of my girls seem to enjoy caves. Here is Cricket in her cave, inside the house, in a cleared out cabinet. She loves the place and would eat in there if I let her. Please don't mind the huge mess on the counters... it's Paul's fault. Megan's cave is a bit more sophisticated. Paul built it from the butt ton of snow we've had this year...

Cute Picture

This girl will eat anything.

Thanksgiving pig out. I mean dinner. (but really, it was just a pig out)

Where's my food? Seriously mom, stop taking pictures and load up my plate, I'm starving over here!
Get away from my drumstick, I'll knock you upside the head with this thing if you don't back off.
THANKSGIVING TOTALLY ROCKS! A holiday where all you do all day is eat or think about eating....it's offical, I'm in heaven.
FeeDee, get the stuffing off your face. Next time use your spoon, not your fingers.

Thanksgiving prep

Notice Megan with the sharp object in her hand?
Notice Paul with the non-hazardous mass of cranberries?
Yummy!!!! Man, am I a great cook or what? Ok... so I didn't do all of it... Megan did the sweet potatoes and Paul did... well, he did everything else! I did help though... Notice the olives in the background? Well before I "helped", there were too many for the bowl and there was a threat of overflow. Ok... I basically drank wine and bugged the poop out of Paul. I know my strengths and I play to them. :)
Yippie! No more slave labor! Dad, can I leave the kitchen yet?

Here are some pictures from our trip to San Diego. We had a blast, went to Sea World, the Zoo and did lots of sightseeing. Megan and Gracie are now BFF! Maddie fell in love with Charlie, who was so sweet to her, giving her kisses and food!

WE'RE GOING TO CALIFORNIA!

Because I have such a great friend, Megan, Cricket and I are on our way to San Diego next weekend to visit Jess and her family. She just had a baby boy, Jude, and her husband is back from his (hopefully) last deployment.

This is the only pic I could find of her... from the wedding... I know there are more, but I just can't find the disc right now.

Anyway, we leave on the 10th and return on the 15th and we are going to have a blast! Paul is excited because he can be a bachelor for 5 days and eat burritos for dinner everyday... life is good and everyone is happy!

Grape Stomping

We took another trip up to Camden a couple of weekends ago and went to a harvest festival. Paul and Megan got to stomp grapes. Megan was up to her knees in grapes! It was a blast, she didn't want to get out. She and Paul also went up in a hot air balloon, it was tethered, but Megan loved it.

Megan went camping this weekend with a friend and had a blast. She came home exhausted though. It was a quite weekend. Paul took Cricket outside in her playpen and cleaned the yard up. She loves being outside and she was having fun "reading" her books and talking to Dad while he worked.

We're doing great, just getting everything ready to move to Japan. We're trying to decied what to bring with us and what to leave. Lucky for us, Paul's brother Lance and his family are stationed over there right now. Christy has been awesome answering all of our questions. They are leaving not too long after we get there though - we get there in February and they are leaving in May. Still enough time to hang out and have some fun.

Day trip with Megans friends.

We went to Ricker Hill Farm agian this year, this time we got brave and also took two of Megan's friends, Katie and Taylor. We had a great time, although we weren't up to actually going up to the apple orchards and picking apples! We just got the girls a pumpkin each and got apples from the store there!

Cricket had a blast as well, she loves being outside, just like her Dad and was happy to just hang out and enjoy the sunshine.

Grandma's Visit

Here are some pictures of Grandma's visit..

Day Trip

We went up to our favorite little spot in Maine yesterday! It's a vineyard and winery about an hour north of us on Route 1, in Camden Maine. The views are awesome and the people who work there are so nice. We splurged a little because we paid off a big bill on Saturday and also because we were celebrating our second anniversary!!

Orders

No pictures this time, just rants on the Navy. We are in the process of picking orders, and let me tell you, it's a bitch. Paul wants to go to a ship (one reason being he doesn't feel like getting deployed to Iraq) and while I'm not so big on the whole ship thing, it's what he really wants, so fine, look for a ship. Only one little small problem...there are no openings on any ships for him...because of his job and rank, there are only a small handful of ships he can go to. So no ships, also no openings in Virginia, where his kids are at...there was a ship stationed out of Sasebo Japan, but she gave those away, after promising Paul to hold them for him. The same thing for the orders to the USNS Comfort stationed out of Bethesda, which would have been perfect all around, they are now gone. We had decided that we would suck it up and he would go to Bahrain without us for one year, his income would be tax free that whole time, it's in a pretty safe place, he would get two all expenses paid trips back to see us, the girls and I would be able to stay in Maine and we could visit family all summer. So in the 4 hours it took us to decied on that, the orders are gone. CRAP. So now our choices are:
Pearl Harbor Hawii (the houses are crappy there..I'm not sure aobut that place)
Yokuska Japan
JAKARKA INDONESIA (you know, the place with all the tsunamis and earthquakes, yeah, that sounds great, where do we sign up for that one?)

So Paul and I are both pretty frustrated with the whole thing as you can imagine...sorry to vent but I just had to!

Megan's First Day of School

She's so proud of herself! Here are some pictures of her first day of kindergarten.
