A couple of quick pics

Just wanted to post a couple of pics real quick. We're doing great, Megan starts Kindergarten on the 5th of September and Maddie is crawling up the stairs! Paul is off of limited duty and we're looking for some orders, wish us luck! Maddy (our nickname for her is Cricket) loves food, people or cat, it doesn't matter! That's Megan finger knitting, she was so proud to have learned something new!

Maddy is crawling!

Ok, so I was talking to Jess this afternoon, and I was telling her how Maddy can kind of crawl but not really, it's more of a pulling her lower body across the floor type of thing...well today, she just crawled, a real crawl, like a pro! I'm going to put the video on YouTube if I can figure it out...here's some pics of our Boston trip...

Comparison

Ok, here are two birthday pics of Megan, the first from 2004 and the second from this last year....

Sprinkles and Mittens

We have the cutest little kittens, Sprinkles and Mittens. They are sisters and they are so funny. Here are a couple of pics...Paul added the remote!

Maddy is eating solids...

Talk about growing up, not only is Megan now 5, but Maddy is eating solid foods...and trying to crawl, plus she's got two bottom teeth coming in. Did I mention she's the size of a small moose?! It's like she woke up one day and said, "Today I'm growing up, all at once." The solids are a bittersweet thing...I like the new found freedom of being able to leave her with Paul for longer periods of time and not worry she'll be hungry. At the same time I know this is the beginning of the end of breastfeeding and she our last baby....

Megan is 5!!!

Holy cannoli's. I don't know when that happened, but my little pumpkin pie is now 5 years old, and she's got the attitude to prove it! She had a great birthday, just a small little party at our house with a couple of friends....did I mention we had no power the whole time?! Here are a couple of pics...enjoy!

Pictures of Megans Easter

Ok, here are some pictures of just Megan from Easter.  I know I'm a bit late getting them out.  Enjoy!

Bath Time Maddy

Here are a couple of pictures of Maddy in her bath.  She LOVES the water!  If she's super cranky I'll give her a bath to calm her down. She's found her toes and loves those as well!

Poor Megan

Ok, so I was looking over our blog and realized that since Madeline has been born, there have been no pictures of just Megan, while there have been pictures of just Madeline. That seems weird to me, since for the longest time it was just Megan...I'll have to try to make an effort to get more pictures of Megan...

Maddy has rolled over!

We haven't got it on video or anything, but she did roll over a couple of times today and she can't stop talking about it!  So there is one milestone down...it's a bit sad because I now know, in a way I never did with Megan, that Maddy is growing up.  Even though she'll be 4 months at the end of this month, she's in size 6-9 month clothing, closer to 9 months than 6!  She's a big tall girl, like her sister!   Paul calls her our little nugget, but that doesn't seem quite right somehow, I perfer the term "Moose!"
Megan is still very much in love with her and she always wants to help and do everything for Maddy.  She's constantly giving her kisses and hugs and wanting to play with her.  It's soooo cute!

Staying at Home

So, it hasn't been quite a week yet since I quit my job to stay at home with the girls. On the first day at home, we went to the story time at the library and then to the grocery store. All day Megan kept saying, "I thought we were staying at home" She thought that when Paul and I told her that we were staying at home we would not leave the house at all, no wonder she was so upset! I think she's starting to get used to the idea though, we've been staying pretty busy during the day, we do two reading lessons a day plus errands and all the other stuff...we've already met some other people with kids the same age who stay at home.

Here is the latest picture of Maddy, I've started to notice that almost all the pictures I have of her and Paul, Paul is sleeping. I can't belive that she's alread almost 4 months old! She hasn't rolled over yet, from front to back, but she's still working on it, and she loves to "sit up" with me holding her up. Enjoy!

Madeline has found her thumb.....

And Paul blames me! He swore up and down that Maddy wouldn't be a thumb sucker, but I guess it's like they say, children are God's way of showing us that we're not in charge! She's been sucking on her fingers for the last couple of weeks, but today was the big day, just one thumb in her mouth! She can roll over from her front to back, for about 3 weeks or so and is working on back to front, she can get onto her side and almost all the way over but not quite there yet...
Megan is still very much the proud older sister, she's just great with Madeline, she always wants to hold her and is a great help. She got creative with a pair of scissors and her hair the other day though...
In related news, Paul and I have decieded that I'll stay home with the girls. There is really no one else to watch Maddy, the lady who is watching her now gave us until April 6th and she'll have another set of kids to watch. So we'll be taking Megan out of daycare and she'll stay home until Kindergarten in the fall. Hopefully she'll be able to go to the Waldorf school that is in Freeport, it's a private school but I've heard great things about it and Mom, as a present to Megan, has offered to pay for the tuition. So we're going to the open house in April to check it out. But I just can't wait, I really think that this will be so good for her. I'll try to keep us busy this summer, the library has some great programs and we'll do swim lessons once it warms up. We've been thinking about piano lessons, but we'll have to re-think that one with the loss of my income...
Ok, going to go, time for the kids to get to bed!
